Nice list. Despite spending a bunch of my childhood in the 80s, i never got into D&D and RPGs in a big way. Had scifi TTRPGs existed, that would have been a different story. I'd certainly give any of these a shot nowadays.

If you ever wanted to give any of them a try, I’d recommend cyberpunk first. The system is dead easy and the gameplay is loads of fun 😁

My introduction to RPGs was D&D and years of playing it has kind of burned me out of the fantasy genre.

Sci-fi though...

Great list! I particularly like that the quality of The Expanse game held up even though you didn't have prior knowledge of the franchise.

"D&D in space" is absolutely how we would all describe these types of games "back in the day."

It’s part of what led me to get into The Expanse books. That and a bunch of people telling me it was great 😂

And yeah ‘D&D in space’ was an excellent descriptor to pique my interest at that time!
